The Ministry of Health provided 400,000 meals for its patients and employees in its hospitals, centers and facilities in the holy sites in 12 locations through more than 26,000 meals per day. She explained that the departments of nutrition services in the holy sites were launched and equipped since the beginning of Dhul Qi’dah, and all sites were provided with 110 smart cameras to monitor the production and control of the quality and safety of the food provided, and to monitor the provision of meals to patients and delegates.
During the Hajj season, the sites produce more than 400,000 complete meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), which are served in 22 halls, and the meals include 176 optional food items according to the beneficiary’s condition, and the meals are prepared according to high-level conditions and specifications, and according to strict health procedures and standards. In addition, the production takes place in coordination with the experienced and competent in hospital nutrition, and the contractor is committed to securing and preparing foodstuffs, hygiene, maintenance, equipment, tools, labor, preparation, and cooking, which is carried out by more than 600 workers with health certificates and highly trained.
The Ministry of Health stated that the procedures are carried out under the supervision of specialists who have been nominated from the health affairs directorates in the regions. The Ministry of Health implements an integrated nutrition plan that is implemented during critical cases with a closed and open tube feeding system through pumps for intensive care patients in each hospital. The emergency, hypnosis and heatstroke departments have also been reinforced with heat stress meals, taking into account the hot weather conditions.
