2 battle for life following head-on collision on Western Freeway in Caroline Springs
The driver of a car and a passenger have sustained life threatening injuries following a head-on collision involving a truck and a car that happened around 2: 00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Western Freeway in Caroline Springs.
According to report, the driver of the car veered into the wrong side of the Western Freeway and collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The driver of the car and a passenger sustained were hospitalized with life threatening injuries while the driver of the truck sustained non life threatening injuries.
The collision lead to the closure of the Western Freeway at Hopkins Road, according a tweet by VicTraffic “All Melbourne-lanes of the Western Freeway are closed at Hopkins Road due to a serious collision in Caroline Springs. Use Hopkins Road and Boundary Road to access the Deer Park Bypass or M80 Ring Road. Consider also the Melton Highway as an alternative”.
The crash remain under investigation.
