A man in his 20s is dead after his 2-year-old toddler accidentally fired some shots from his father’s rifle.
According to St. Louis police, the incident occurred at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday. Arriving officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the back. The unidentified man was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators say the victim’s 2-year-old son was handling the rifle when it accidentally went off.
The incident has been a Homicide and a homicide investigation is ongoing.
It is unclear at this time if the woman in the home at the time of the shooting will be facing charges.
