A 39-year-old man has been hospitalized after being shot in the mouth during a possible robbery in Olney on Thursday night, reports say.
The incident happened in the 5000 block of Fairhill Street at about 11 p.m. Philadelphia Police responded to the scene and the victim was transported to Einstein Medical Centre, where he is expected to survive.
Officials say he was struck by a bullet to the mouth and to his right shoulder, and his mobile phone was stolen by two suspects. The victim then ran to a nearby bar for assistance. Police arrived after persons from the bar called 911.
Authorities are working to identify the two robbery suspects and are checking surveillance footage for clues.
