An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck today, north of the Indonesian island of Java.
The American Institute of Geophysics reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 594 kilometers in the sea, at 16:55 local time (09:55 GMT).
There were no reports of human losses or material damage as a result of the earthquake, while the Indonesian Geological Agency ruled out the occurrence of tsunami waves.
