A man in China has been sentenced to six months in prison for frightening 1,100 chickens to death in a dispute with his neighbour. The strange case began – according to "Sky News" – in April last year, when the man, surnamed Joe, was upset that his neighbor, surnamed Chung, cut down his trees without informing him.
In response, Zhou, who is from Hengyang County in south-central China's Hunan Province, sneaked into Zhong's chicken farm at night on several occasions. It's not clear what Zhu's intention was, but the Hengyang county court heard that one night the man used a flashlight to "scare the chickens," according to state-run China Daily.
This caused the birds to be swarmed into a corner, causing 460 of them to be crushed to death. He was arrested and forced to pay Chung $440 in compensation. This decision made him even more angry, to return to Chung's farm again to repeat his actions, which this time led to the death of 640 chickens.
