Today (Sunday), the Administrative Court of the State Council in Cairo ruled to remove Mortada Mansour from the presidency of the Zamalek club, and obligated the board of directors to call for early elections for the position of president of the club.
While the lawyer, Muhammad Hamid Abu Salem, confirmed that Mortada Mansour may submit the nomination papers for the elections for the presidency of the Zamalek club again to the administration entrusted with receiving the papers of the new candidates, and he is also entitled to resort to the State Council again to file an appeal against the decision to dismiss him, confirming in his statements. To him, this ruling is not final, as it was issued by the Administrative Court.
A source from inside the Zamalek club revealed that work inside the club is proceeding normally, expecting that “Mortada” will appeal the decision.
Abdullah George and 3 others had filed a case in the administrative judiciary, in which they demanded that the Minister of Youth and Sports be obligated to remove the status of Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club.
It is noteworthy that Mortada Mansour was released last March 26, after a month of imprisonment in the case in which he was convicted – by a final ruling – of insulting and slandering Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, and “Mansour” is currently being tried in three cases, the first before the Economic Court on charges of insulting He slandered a public servant, and works as a general manager at the Central Auditing Agency, and is postponed to the next May 23 session for review. He is also being tried in two lawsuits in which he is accused of insulting and slandering Mamdouh Abbas, the former president of Zamalek Club, and the Agouza Misdemeanor Court ruled on March 17 that it had no jurisdiction to consider the two lawsuits and referred them to the Economic Court.
According to Egyptian law, the Economic Court is competent to hear cases of defamation and defamation that occur through social networking sites and communication devices.
