The Saudi team to communicate with the Yemeni parties, headed by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, held a meeting with the President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.
Ambassador Al Jaber conveyed to Dr. Al-Alimi the greetings of the wise leadership and its wishes that the existing contacts with all Yemeni parties will culminate in reviving the political process, leading to the achievement of a comprehensive and sustainable solution in Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the results of the meetings held in Sana'a from 17 to 22 Ramadan, with the participation of a delegation from the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, and the positive atmosphere that accompanied it.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council valued the Saudi and Omani efforts, praising the keenness on the importance of taking the necessary humanitarian steps to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people in all Yemeni governorates, including the payment of salaries, an increase in the number of flights through Sana’a International Airport, the opening of Taiz roads and other roads, and a halt to the launch of Fire, reviving the political process and reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen, in accordance with the terms of reference agreed upon nationally and internationally and under the supervision of the United Nations.
The meeting comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its peace initiative in Yemen, which it announced in 2021 and was approved by the Yemeni government, and in a continuation of it to build on the positive atmosphere of the current humanitarian truce since its entry into force on April 2, 2022.
