The British newspaper “Financial Times” revealed that the head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, “Hamedti”, are determined to fight to the end. The newspaper, in its issue today (Thursday), quoted Al-Burhan as saying: A large part of Hamidti's forces got out of his control, and that the Rapid Support Forces are responsible for looting in Khartoum and Darfur. Al-Burhan added: We will resume the transition to the democratic path as soon as Hemedti's forces are defeated. He reaffirmed that the army is committed to completing the political process in accordance with the framework agreement, pointing out that the Rapid Support Forces are trying to seize power.

The newspaper quoted Hamidti as saying: We will not back down from our goals and the battlefield will determine everything, stressing that Al-Burhan is not ready to move to civilian rule. Hamidti said: We are open to stopping the violence, but Al-Burhan will not stop. The commander of the Rapid Support Forces stressed that his forces "are seeking to arrest and prosecute Al-Burhan." He added, "We do not oppose, in principle, the integration of the Rapid Support Forces into the army."

And with the continuation of the fighting, today, the Preliminary Committee of the Sudan Doctors Syndicate announced that the number of civilian casualties since the beginning of the clashes that broke out between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has risen to 198 dead and 1207 injured, while the Sudanese Red Crescent confirmed that it faced great difficulties in recovering the bodies of the victims from the streets.

For his part, the Regional Director of the World Health Organization Ahmed Al-Mandhari called on the Sudanese parties to abide by international laws, warning that what is happening in Sudan is greater than the capacity of the health authorities.
