17-year old Tayla Alexander has died in a fiery late-night Christchurch crash on Wednesday about 11pm in Ashburton.
27, November, Tayla Alexander, 17 of Ashburton and four other teenagers were involved in a fiery fatal car crash,on the Summit Rd, near Dyers Pass Rd towards Victoria Park, that ended the life of Tayla and left the four teens injured.
The cause of the crash can be traced to bad road as one Kevin Clark described as “horrible corner” in his statement below:
“It was right on that bend; it’s a horrible corner as it is. I’ve always taken it stupidly slow because I’ve always thought people [will] go off it if they go too quick around.
Tayla was pronounced death 10 minutes later,after Emergency services responded to the crash.
Detective Sergeant Brad Grainger said police appealed for any witnesses to the crash or any reports of the manner of the driver’s driving before the crash.
