A great loss was made known to InsideEko. Legendary snooker player and commentator Willie Thorne, has died at the age of 66, on the 17th of June 2020. Willie was a great snooker player, when snooker was at its best in the 70s & 80s.

Really sad to hear that snooker player and commentator Willie Thorne has died.
Was only talking about him with @fouldsy147 recently on the Cricket Badger Podcast as “the most recognizable sportsman” for a time in England.

I couldn’t get any worse news in the morning😢. Leukemia is an insidious beast, and eventually defeated Willi. I will miss him immensely, as a player, but above all as a famous expert with a great voice and character for commenting. RIP legend. Willie Thorne died😩😢😩 #Snooker
