Really sad to hear Snooker legend Willie Thorne has sadly passed away aged 66. In the 1990’s I covered Snooker and Willie was so friendly, so helpful and amazing company in the Press Room. Condolences to his family and friends

Deeply, deeply saddened to hear that my friend Willie Thorne has passed away. One of life’s great characters. A marvellous snooker player and a lovely man, who’s potted his final black much too soon. RIP Willie.

I’m not that bothered celebs passing away but I have watched snooker for more years than I can remember. Willie Thorne and JV’s soft voices in commentary were perfect. To say I’m gutted doesn’t come close. R.I.P #williethorne
