You taught me a lot when I first started on the street… You took me under your wing when we were on the same platoon… You showed me how to carry a transistor radio in my car so I can listen to the ball games without having it fly out the window… You told me how sometimes it was better to show compassion than aggression…
you helped me understand the difference between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law and for that I will always thank you. You were able to get the job done with the use of common sense.
