City High has lost a treasure. Rising senior Emma Nugent was bright, creative, and warm-hearted. I felt lucky to know her every single day of our 10H year together. Like so many of us, I will miss seeing her this fall. Rest easy, dear one. #tstl

Our hearts in the City High Band family are extremely heavy today as we received news that our very own, Emma Nugent, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away yesterday. Emma just finished her junior year and was going into her senior year as one of our flute section leaders for marching band and was a member of our great Wind Ensemble flute section.Emma was a hard worker, always had a smile on her face, and was a dependable, kind, caring, bright, amazing student. Her influence and careful nurturing in leadership roles always provided a sense of belonging to our City High Band community.
Mr. Kowbel and I love each and every one of our students (current and former). You are all invaluable to us and today we grieve not only the loss of a wonderful person but the loss of a City High Band family member. We will ensure she is not forgotten and will keep her spirit with us always. Through this time we encourage you all to do whatever you can to be there for one another and we ask that you keep the Nugent family (mom and dad, Carmen and Joe, and younger brother, Ray) in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the loss of their dearly loved, Emma.
We love you and will miss you, Emma. Rest In Peace. 💔🙏😢
Love,
Mr. Ottmar, Mr. Kowbel and your City High Band family
Hi Everybody. I am here to tell you that sadly, and very suddenly, Emma Nugent passed away yesterday. We will be honoring a dedicated, loving, strong, athletic, and beautiful friend and youth many times in the near future. Two of the gatherings include one tonight, and tomorrow night. Please let me know if you are interested in attending and we will get you the details. There is also a meal chain to sign up to provide meals for the family. These gatherings will be socially distanced, please wear masks. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. You can contact me at [email protected]. Thank you.
My heart is broken as I ask for your prayers of peace and comfort for our school community and for the friends and family of Emma Nugent. Emma was, among so many other things, a member of The Ambassadors at City High who would have been entering her senior year this fall. She was a wonderful young woman, always ready with a smile and never in too much of a hurry to stop and chat. She will be sorely missed. 💔🙏😔
Rest in Peace Emma.
