Ari Gershman, a doctor who developed lifesaving new medicines, took his 15-year-old son on a drive in rural California. They were ambushed by a gunman who shot and killed Ari. His son ran and hid in the woods for 36 hours until police tracked his iPhone.

I can’t stop thinking about what happened to Danville doctor Ari Gershman. He was shot and killed in a random attack in the Tahoe National Forest while off roading with his 15-year-old son. He leaves behind 3 kids and a wife who was diagnosed with cancer 6 weeks ago.

ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING: Dr. Ari Gershman of Danville was shot and killed over the weekend while on a trip with his 15-year-old son near Downieville. His son was able to escape and was on his own for 30 hours before being rescued.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
