William “Bill” Delahoyde, a prominent Raleigh attorney, has passed away. The people of Kure Beach confirmed his death on Saturday.

Lifeguards were dispatched to a beach post near the 200 block of S. Fort Fisher Boulevard on top of a distressed swimmer Thursday. Two people were able to pull Delahoyde out of the water.
First responders’ efforts to save Delahoyde were unsuccessful.
The New Hanover County Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.”
