Executing the penalty of defamation of one of the harassers, and revealing the blocking of him last week, received wide satisfaction in all circles that continued to direct arrows of criticism at the wayfarers and the owners of the “distorted eyes” who took advantage of the silence and the veils that were imposed on them to persist in their actions. Finally, they used the means of digital technology to penetrate their actions, in “Snapchat”, “Facebook”, “WhatsApp” and others, just as the silence of the victims under the illusions of “concealment” and the words of the people gave this growing group a weapon to intimidate and blackmail the victims who kept swallowing poison and bitter medicine. However, amendments to the regulations by adding the penalty for defamation of the harasser brought these victims back to life.
Defaming criminals is a legal principle if the crime is proven, to deter the offender so that the crime is not repeated among the general public. There are criminals who can persist in their misguidance as long as there is a cover for those who do not deserve it. The system obliges anyone who becomes aware of a case of harassment to report it to the competent authorities, and anyone who, by virtue of his work, is obligated to view information about any of the cases of harassment. By maintaining the confidentiality of information, and it is not permissible to disclose the identity of the victim, except in cases that are required by inference or investigation procedures, and he shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years, and a fine not exceeding 100,000 riyals, or one of these two penalties; Everyone who has committed a crime of harassment.
