The Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Misk Foundation, in partnership with UNESCO, is putting the final touches to launch the UNESCO Forum for Non-Governmental Organizations tomorrow (Wednesday) under the slogan "Youth and Their Social Impact", amidst international participation, the first of its kind in the history of the forum. It is represented by the participation of ministers, officials and youth from 70 countries, to anticipate the future of the world's youth, and highlight mechanisms for empowering them and developing their tools in diversified development.
Over two days, more than 1,800 participants and representatives of more than 400 non-governmental organizations and 70 countries will gather in specialized sessions, workshops and seminars to discuss the role, potential and ideas of young people in six areas: education, training, volunteer work, new technologies, social networks, sustainable development, and protection of cultural heritage. The forum is expected to focus on generating new ideas to support development in the countries of the world. The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, will deliver a speech at the start of the forum, in which several names will participate, including the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, the Saudi Minister of Labor, Dr. to the Desmond Peace Foundation's Brian Rush, and nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis.
