Håkon Øverby Death – Cause of Death – Norwegian sport wrestler Håkon Øverby sadly and unexpectedly died on the 10th of November, 2021 at the age of 79. Øverby was born on the 5th of December 1941 in Oslo (NOR) and represented the sports club SK av 1909. He represented Norway at the 1968 Mexico City and 1972 Munich Summer Games and participated in the 87 kg weight class in wrestling at the 1968 Summer Olympics, where he exited after the fourth round.

According to Wikipedia, Øverby competed at the 1968 European Wrestling Championships and at the 1969 World Wrestling Championships where he finished fifth in both competition. Between 1963 and 1976, he took eleven national championships (eight in light heavyweight).

Lost Olympians said in a tweet; “November 10th, Norwegian Wrestler Håkon Øverby passed away at the age of 79. He represented Norway at the 1968 Mexico City & 1972 Munich Summer Games.”
