Friends and other affected persons mourn the death of Former Proteas team manager and cricket icon Goolam Rajah, 74, unexpectedly passed away. Rajah death was confirmed on Tuesday.

Rajah’s cause of death is still unclear, but it is believed to be related to Covid-19 as he was diagnosed with Covid-19 last week.

Rajah was a celebrated and longtime Proteas team manager who served from 1991 to 2011. He performed 179 tests, 444 ODIs and 40 T20s.

He was also at the Sydney Cricket Ground on February 26, 1992 when South Africa defeated Australia in their first-ever Cricket World Cup game with nine wickets.
