Fred, a native of Colorado, where he grew up in Louisville and married his college girlfriend, Lois Chiolino. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1955 on a football scholarship.
Fred’s career at Cherry Creek High School was as a physical education teacher, athletic director and head football coach from 1962 – 1989.
His record at CCHS was 272 wins, 49 losses and 2 ties, including 22 league titles, 23 playoff berths and 3 state championships.
