Wearing glasses helps a person to see well. You may need glasses for reading, or from driving or both. What the glasses do is shift your focus to a different point so that you can see well. It is common and very acceptable to wear glasses to see well but it is not so common to change your focus using just your mind. Most people don’t even realise that it can be done, yet you do it all the time.
There are 3 steps to being able to use both your conscious and your subconscious mind to change your focus which will then make changes to your behaviour.
First you need to decide on what you want. In looking at weight control, you may want to reduce down the amount you eat. You can do this by recognising when you are full and therefore stop eating. So you decide to now focus on stop eating when you are full rather than continuing to eat which you may have done in the past. Create an image in your mind of how you continue to eat even if you feel full. Then create a second image in your mind of recognising that you are full and that you stop eating. This is done using the conscious mind.
With your eyes closed, imagine you are in a dark room and you have a strong torch that directs a light to one wall. One the wall all you can see if the first image you created in your mind. Now imagine that you click a switch on the torch and it moves the light from the first picture to the second picture where you stop eating when you recognise you are full. The first picture is now in the darkness.
Now turn the lens on the torch as if it is like a magnifying glass and let it really increase the magnification of the picture so you are able to see it so much more clearly. Now just sit with the image, seeing what you see, feeling how it would feel and hearing anything that would support that image. In your mind just sit with it for 5 minutes several times a day for 1 week. As you do this you will move the image into your subconscious mind that will then make this happen for you.
