Lara Nguyen, the driver of a white Audi SUV was struck by a black Hyundai sedan traveling on the wrong track.
The 31-year-old driver of the Hyundai and Lara Nguyen were pronounced at the scene while the 2-year-old passenger of the black Hyundai was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Lara Nguyen was born in Spring, Texas. She graduated from Klein High School.
Lara Nguyen attended the University of Houston and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Psychology. She also earned a doctorate in optometry from the College of Optometry at the University of Houston.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and past president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric International Honor Society.
