Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
Our community lost a legend with Robbie Waters’ passing from COVID-19. He was a true public servant who spent his life in the service of others. He will be greatly missed but always remembered thanks to our wonderful library that bears his name.

My mom begged me not to send her for a second trip to skilled nursing after having abdominal surgery!! I also had a dr. in a private phone call say to me that he would not send his 78yr old mother to skilled nursing during this pandemic. That made a big difference.
We set her up for caregivers at home.
Here IS the problem! It’s not covered by her insurance!!! It’s extremely costly. It’s wonderful that the government is helping the unemployed but there is not one bit of help for someone in my mom’s position making the decision to stay out of skilled nursing. My mom can’t walk! She needs so much help, getting to the restroom, meals, bathing, help with her ever changing meds, so much! It’s been awful!! Heartbreaking! Her life has completely changed!! She was supposed to be rehabilitated and walking by now — but a 2 week quarantine and a ridiculous decision to stop her in home services by her medical provider created a new problem for her! No one monitoring her health, or her meds, no PT, no OT (both critical after knee replacement and a partial hip replacement!)
Covid19 has affected every aspect of my mother’s journey since mid February for her knee replacement. One thing led to another and Corona virus has interfered every step of the way with her care. But she’s still alive! She was released from a skilled nursing facility just days before it was released that there were multiple cases there and a death! Which resulted in the quarantine!
There is no financial relief, nor enough of any in home services for those who want to stay out of skilled nursing!! Zero. The “rehab” for Robbie is what sent him to skilled nursing— no alternative offered or covered by insurance; it just seems like a very forgotten group of people. PS- making too much in retirement or combined with their spouse to qualify for any medi-cal, in case you were wondering.
May Robbie Waters Rest In Peace. Bless his soul and that his death can bring more awareness to this horrible predicament for a life or death decision!
