His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts and at the sheriff’s office.” Lieutenant Baham was a well-respected and compassionate warrior, and the epitome of a gentle giant. “There was nothing about a crime scene that he did not know or could not uncover,” says Chief Travis. “Gary was our partner and friend for a better part of 33 years.” Aside from being outstanding in his career as a detective, mentor, and best friend, he was a part of our family and will forever be missed.

Let me try to say a few words about my friend Gary Baham. This person that I had the privilege to work with side by side at TPSO and the 7th Ward Marshal Office. Gary was passionate about his job and cared about the public and victims of crimes. If you couldn’t get along with him there was definitely something wrong with you. He went above and beyond the call. I will definitely miss the close relationship I had with him as a law enforcement partner and friend. I will see you again when we can walk the streets of gold. You have earned your wings. We will take it from here brother!!!
