We lost a huge presence in the world of goodness. Ellen MacPhee was so many things, a wonderful momma, wife, healer, musician, leader, inspiration and for so many, a dear friend. Always ready to help and encourage. It’s not fair that she got sick. She was so full of life. In the first pic which I stole from her Facebook page, Ellen does that thing where her nose crinkled when she laughed. I’m going to miss that crinkle because it was always there. So much love to Ellen’s family, Stephen and the kids, her mom and dad, brother John MacPhee and to all Ellen’s family of friends. Ellen, you were one in a million and we’ll never forget you.

This. The laughter after music. That’s how I’ll remember my friend Ellen MacPhee. When I got the phone call yesterday morning I cried and clenched my fist but then calmed because Im so grateful you were my friend. Everyone who met you knew immediately you were their friend. You lit up every room you entered or field you played and danced through. I’ll treasure that last night in July you singing The Briar and The Rose in the Tassels kitchen. Love you you absolute out and out legend.

I am lost for words after hearing about the passing of a really great friend and human, Dr. Ellen MacPhee. Many folks have very eloquently expressed how incredible she was. She was an amazing friend, an inspiration, an incredible musician, charming, a strong mother, a mentor, and my chiropractor in Halifax for roughly 3 years before she moved to Quebec City. She was the epitome of health, wellness, and positivity. I really appreciated her wholistic approach as a clinician, and when I went for chiro treatments, I felt like I was visiting my family doctor. And you bet we talked piping at every session! She was incredibly compassionate. I can remember staying the night at her parents place in Summerside PEI one summer as an early teen while attending the Summerside Highland Games, and offered nothing but the best hospitality. To her parents, her spouse and kids, and her brother John MacPhee, I offer my most sincere and heartfelt condolences.

I’m at a loss for words, and my heart is broken for the loss of my dearest friend Ellen. Her love was unconditional, and her friendship endless. The chasm left in her absence is monumental, and nobody that met her could be unaffected by her sparkling geniality, or the empathy she brandished like a sword. The sunset photo was one month ago, the last time I would see her, and a mere two days before she was destined to begin her last battle with illness. We had Indian food, went to the beach, and spent the rest of the evening in easy company. Her precious time was her final and greatest gift to me, and now, the giving of it is staggering. I will miss her so very much.
