Authorities say a man in his 40s has been hospitalized in a severe condition after a shooting in an apartment complex near downtown San Antonio.
According to San Antonio, the shooting happened in the 1800 block of Broadway in the evening hours of Sunday. Investigation predicts a group of people inside the apartment got into an altercation which escalated to shots being fired. Police said an unidentified man in his 20s brandished a weapon and shot the victim to his upper torso.
Arriving EMS transported the unidentified male to the Brooke Army Medical Center, where he is listed in a critical condition. Detectives are seeking the whereabouts of the suspected gunman, who they said fled the scene towards down Broadway in a pickup truck, reports say.
Sergeant Kevin Koch with SAPD said;
“We do have evidence at the scene pertaining to the crime, could the suspect still be armed…possibly. So I would say yes, people just use caution at this time until the suspect is in custody.”
