Marcus Lamb Cause of Death: Marcus Lamb, 64-year-old, founder of Dallas-area Christian TV network Daystar, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. His death was announced by Daystar Television Network. The cause of his death was not mentioned in the announcement but on several broadcasts by his family, he was said to be battling with Covid-19. He was an American televangelist, prosperity theologian, minister, and Christian broadcaster. He was the co-founder, president, and CEO of the Daystar Television Network, the second-largest Christian television network in the world. The estimated value of the network is $230 million.
He was born October 7, 1957, in Cordele, Georgia, but grew up in Macon, Georgia. He grew up attending the East Macon Church of God. From an early age, he attends Marcon Church of God and at the age of five, he became a Christian and continued in church attendance and work as he grew older. At age 15 he became an evangelist and started to preach. He graduated from high school and enrolled in Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee-based Christian university at the age of 16. He graduated three years later. In 1982, four years after graduation, he married Joni Trammell of Greenville, South Carolina. He and his wife lived in Dallas and had three children. The couple spent their early years of marriage as traveling evangelists, visiting churches in the Southeast to teach the gospel. He was ordained as a bishop with the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee.
The same year that Marcus met his wife Joni, he founded The Word of God Fellowship, the company that later start the Daystar Television Network. He moved to Montgomery, Alabama to begin WMCF-TV in 1984. This was the first full-power Christian station in the state which he later sold the station to Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in 1990 and moved to Dallas, Texas, and in 1997 he launched the Daystar network.
