Somtimes the challenges of life hit us so hard we search for a shoulder to lean on.
Even stoics sometimes break under heavy strain.
We all search for the one or two people whom we can pour out our heart knowing we will be understood without irresponsible judgement.
For some of us,we never find such people. We dont find them because the world is actually a harsh place where sometimes those whom you tell your problems are happy you are in pain. While some may want to help but cannot either because they drown in their own pain or they dont know how to help.
In all of this,the ultimate test of our integrity is not whether we find those we can talk to at times like this,the true test of our leadership is in wherther our associate feel free with us when they are in such shape, the test is whether they feel safe with us to confide in us .
As we grow as leaders,there comes a time we must ask ourself certain questions.
? Are we capable of leading others.
? What attitude do we represent,anger,pain,judgement,hatred even when we preach love all the time.
How do people feel when they are around you
Do people get hope merely be being around you or do they “behave” themself so as not to get a taste of your psychological or physical bathering.
Leadership is mentorship,if you are leading anybody then they aught to feel safe with you.
Leadership is about guiding other,you guide others out of the dark,you become their source of strength when all else fails.
The deep part of this is not to wait for some to come to you when they are under such stress,your leadership intuition should kick in and enable you identify when others are in such shape,then you take measures to open them up to discusing what the problem is.
That is the meaning of being a leader to another in time of need.
Many people need you,your advice,your knowledge,your expertise aand many more. They are everywhere,your siblings,colleagues,friends and associate,neighbours and every other person privildged to share your life even for a moment.
Lead them properly,guide them away from pain. This is why you are a leader
