The former Lebanese Minister of Justice, Major General Ashraf Rifi, confirmed in an exclusive interview with “Okaz” that the Lebanese are betting on the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in protecting the security and stability of Lebanon, and it has never failed in securing coexistence and in securing security, economic and financial stability, at a time when we find Iran is seeking, with all its efforts, to fund and arm Hezbollah, which is a factional funding and support aimed at destroying and fragmenting the Lebanese fabric, and Iran has never sought construction and development, and the difference between what Iran is doing in the region with the aim of hegemony and the positions and aid of the Kingdom that pours for livelihood the Lebanese, their prosperity and stability.
Rifi added, “Today we stand with great contemplation in front of the outcome of the conference that was held in Riyadh, and whoever reads well should read well the Riyadh Declaration, which ended for two main things, the first is the fight against terrorism, and this is what we have begun to witness more, and the second is confronting the Iranian tide in the Arab countries that It was a major cause of the explosion of the region and the emergence of new terrorist groups. The Saudi position is very clear with regard to confronting Iranian influence. The Kingdom has become the main bulwark in confronting the Persian project.
Rifi considered that Iran wreaked havoc in the Arab countries and contributed to the destruction of cities and villages and the creation of demographic separation in many regions, and it will bear their historical responsibility first because it did not respect the neighborhood, did not respect the Islamic unity, and did not respect the Arab-Persian historical relations, so the Iranian role is a suspicious role in every sense of the word. meaning. There is a shift in regional and international decision-making, and we hope to get rid of Iranian weapons in the Lebanese arena. Any Iranian weapon that comes out of Iran will backfire against it. There is no truth to the saying of the era of great Iran. These are historical illusions, and the people are the masters of themselves.
