Abdullah Basindwa has been associated with "Okaz" since childhood, indicating that he learned to read from her, when his father used to bring her home daily. Basindoh said: A friendship relationship grew between me and “Okaz”, which grew with the days, and was strengthened when I lived for a period of time in Canada. He is currently living the zenith of his relationship with Okaz after he completed 26 years of age.
