Between the camera and the actor, the director of the movie clip stands creating the best scene she drew in her imagination, to bring out a movie for us that we live in the smallest details as if he is talking about us, and through the crew that starts from the smallest things to the largest, the Saudi female film directors talk about their hopes and demands in this field.

Director Tamader Al-Rehaili indicates that one of the most prominent challenges is the lack of actors who graduate from acting institutes, in addition to the lack of many stories for production, as the stories are mostly dramatic and tell social suffering, if not limited only to the suffering of women in Saudi Arabia, and the idea is monolithic and proceeds routinely. The viewer knows the end of the story and a story with a distinctive three-dimensional idea is rare.

Al-Rehaili adds that from the organizational point of view, the authorities regulating licenses conflict between the Ministry of Culture and the Audiovisual Media Authority in addition to the Ministry of Commerce, which requires clarifying the competence of each authority in terms of production, whether it is television or cinema.

Director Noura Al-Mawlid says that one of the most important challenges she faced as a filmmaker is producing films with a very small budget, because the low budget causes poor quality of the film, and the possibility of actors, noting that the lack of a female cast with good acting potential and talent leads to avoiding choosing roles. The main female.

For her part, Al-Hanouf Abdel-Rahman confirmed that at the beginning of her studies in the field of cinema at Effat University, female students supported each other in the same field, in addition to the university’s support for them in providing the field’s requirements. However, some difficulties lay in implementing some ideas in terms of filming, permits, and public and private sites.

Al-Hanouf continued her speech that the new decision to allow cinema to enter Saudi Arabia will motivate filmmakers to write and produce distinguished content for Saudis, whether it is for plays, films, and others.

Hind Jumby, a student in the Visual and Digital Production Department, expressed her opinion about her study, saying: “Saudi women have proven their ability to be creative and innovative in visual and digital production. This field has become attractive to Saudi men and women, and its great contribution to spreading culture and purposeful pleasure, and introducing the world to our country, our cultures, and our heritage.
