The crowding of Arab bread shops in Qatif Governorate is usually associated with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, so that queues begin to stand and wait for more than half an hour, and sometimes for more than an hour after two o'clock in the afternoon, waiting for Arabic bread, which is one of the main pillars of the Qatifian table.
The baker, Imran Khan, indicated that work during the month of Ramadan is characterized by a lot of hardship and fatigue, as Ramadan coincides with the summer season. “I stand in front of the fire for more than 5 hours a day. I start my work at eleven in the morning. Preparing bread and continuing it until the Maghrib call to prayer. Fasting and the high temperature of the oven constitute great elements of exhaustion for me, especially since I work in two shifts, evening and morning.
Mustafa Al-Sihati stated that "Arabic bread stores witness great crowding throughout the holy month during the day, so I usually buy bread in the evening, and porridge is a main dish on the Ramadan table, and Arab bread is required to be present next to it."
