People with a special mood for singing often confront me, while preparing for my concerts here and there, by requesting a song and a certain singing mood at the same time.. My answer is always that there are songs for the theater, and second songs for sessions, and a third that does not go beyond the limits of the studio, and a fourth that is valid for every time and place.

For example, the song of the two thoughts, moods, and writers often has clear features in the text, its final image, or its tools.. That is, the word used has different things, and they may be compatible, from which a very beautiful song emerges, but its framing and final idea is difficult for me to sing on stage.

For example, the song “Wrong”, although I performed it several times on the stage, and I sang it for the first time on one of the Cairo theaters in the mid-seventies, and it was a great public success, but it is of the type that is difficult to perform on the stage, because its text carries two different ideas, The beginning of the song was written by the poet Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, then he asked the poet Prince Badr bin Abdul-Mohsen to complete the text.. The same was the case with the song “Laura”, which the audience sometimes asks that I sing on stage, but for the same factors that make up the text, I did not present it to the stage. As the birth of the text was in the seventies during an artistic session that brought me together with the two poets, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, as the poem came as a debate between the two great poets, as Al-Qasabi wrote:

“The artist melted from the excess of her goodness

Laura, that Laura, is the redemption of Laura the seducer.”

Then came the poet's response:

“You hide from your eyes out of modesty

And tenderness with the joy of the artist

You are an "invader" and like her he seeks kindness

Right in a blanket of tenderness »

Then Al-Qusaibi, may God have mercy on him, continued:

And it went under the bends, and it was

vibrant in my feelings and my being »

Then we acted on the final image of the text, by changing some words, and it was presented in the end with the image that you hear.
