The Azerbaijan Tourism Council announced that it will host the international conference “Travel Business Azerbaijan”, the largest tourism and trade event for the travel and business sector, on April 29 in the capital, Baku, with the support of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
This event attracts local and international tourism experts, whose number this year is expected to exceed 400 specialists in this field, in order to communicate directly with sector experts and serve as a platform to showcase the tourism potential of Azerbaijan. The event also witnesses the signing of a large number of profitable partnerships and business deals.
Tourism figures to Azerbaijan for the year 2019 revealed that the number of visitors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia increased by 46.7% to reach about 107 thousand visitors, compared to about 73 thousand visitors in 2018.
As part of its strategy to enhance the value of Azerbaijan as a prominent tourist destination, and to double the number of visits to it by 2023, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board had launched its global marketing campaign “More than you can imagine” in late 2018. Within about a year, Azerbaijan celebrated setting a historic record, with the number of its visitors reaching 3 million and 200 thousand passengers, a significant increase of 11.4% compared to 2018.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to the meetings and seminars of major companies, the conference will host a travel awards ceremony and familiarization trips for guests, allowing them the opportunity to explore the tourism and entertainment scene and the possibilities of meetings, incentives, agreements and exhibitions in Baku and various regions in Azerbaijan.
