The classic survival horror game Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is brought back by Capcom from 1999 with an improved graphic and updated gameplay, as the heroine of the game returns
Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira try to survive the "Walking Dead", while they are being hunted by Nemesis, an intelligent biological weapon. The game was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 3, 2020. It includes an online multiplayer mode named Resident Evil: Resistance. The game received generally positive reviews from critics, with its graphics, presentation, and gameplay though criticism directed at its short length and pace.
playing style
Resident Evil 3 is a re-release of the 1999 PlayStation game Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Unlike the original version, which used fixed camera angles, the remake features a third-person shooter similar to Resident Evil 2: Remake. It includes the online multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance, which pits a team of 4 players against a "Mastermind" who can create traps, enemies, and other dangers. However, the start of Resident Evil 3 has players briefly controlling a first-person view of a dream and then her apartment, interacting with the environment around it much like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
the story
The story takes place through the events of the previous part, as former police officer Jill Valentine tries to escape from “Raccoon City” during the “zombie” invasion that resulted from the outbreak of the “T virus”. Valentine encounters an intelligent bioweapon named Nemesis-T Type, which attempts to kill her and all remaining members of the Police Department's Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS). The game also highlights mercenary Carlos Oliveira, who is recruited by Umbrella to help the survivors.
Ratings
Resident Evil 3 has received generally positive reviews, with an average score of 80 on Metacritic. Praise was directed towards the game's graphics, sound, gameplay and horror elements. Some of the criticisms were aimed at the length of the game, as well as the loss of some elements from the original game.
