Cultural and artistic circles mourned the poet and composer Taher bin Hussein, who passed away this morning. He is considered one of the symbols of the cultural and artistic scene in Saudi Arabia since the seventies. And he wrote something from his biography, the novelist Hamid bin Aqil, in his novel “Al-Rawaqi.”

The deceased was born in the city of Dhamar in Yemen, Al-Hada district, Tanan village. He left Yemen at the age of ten and settled in the city of Taif for four years, and there he witnessed a popular celebration that was being celebrated by the great artist Talal Maddah, and he decided, as a result, to become a professional artist.

He left Taif when he was fourteen years old and settled in Jeddah. He sang on Saudi radio before he was seventeen years old, and presented many names to the artistic scene. He also presented many tunes to artists such as Talal Maddah, Abdul Majeed Abdullah, Muhammad Omar, Ali Abdul Karim, Talal Salama and others.

He is considered the most important Yemeni artist and composer who is fluent in Sana’ani art and has a high artistic sense of the Yemeni artistic heritage in particular and the Arab one in general. He is fluent in playing more than one musical instrument, especially the oud and the violin. He has published many critical art articles in a number of Arab newspapers, and they have received an important resonance in artistic circles due to the author's enjoyment of a musical culture. A single copy of his tapes was sold to Ali Muhammad Ibrahim Sumaili.

The late cooperated with the artist, Mohamed Abdo, in works, including “The Gate of the Wind – My Land – Nawa Al-Marwah – I Tell You, Habib.”
