Al Baraka Group B.S.C. (the “Group”) announced that two of the Group’s units have won Islamic Finance News 2022 awards for the “Best Digital Offers” category in Turkey and South Africa, at a ceremony recently held in Dubai.

Al Baraka Bank South Africa and Al Baraka Turkey were selected as the winners of the IFN Awards based on a comprehensive annual poll conducted by the magazine that included more than 38,000 votes this year. The magazine developed the voting process this year, allowing only local professionals to vote for banks in their local markets, which made the result More accurate and representative of the Islamic banking sector.

The group also announced that the new mobile banking application at Al Baraka Bank Tunisia, Banecti, won the “Product of the Year 2023” award in the category of banking applications, an award established 30 years ago in more than 45 countries around the world and in Tunisia since 2016. Al Baraka Bank Tunisia was Banecti launched its new mobile banking application in October 2022, and was selected as one of the winners by a panel of experts based on its high standards of innovation and features that offer added value to customers in Tunisia.

These awards reinforce the group's vision for its subsidiaries to become pioneers in the field of digital banking services in the world, and for the continuous development of digital banking services to meet the needs of customers.

Al Baraka Group banks have started launching new solutions and features as part of the digital transformation journey, including advanced mobile banking applications, wallets, digital customer registration feature, back-office automation, chatbots, various open banking initiatives, digital branches and others.

Also during the IFN Awards Ceremony, Al Baraka Bank South Africa won the “Best Islamic Bank in South Africa” and “Deal of the Year” awards, and Jordan Islamic Bank, a unit of Al Baraka Group, won the “Best Corporate Bank” and “Best Corporate Bank” awards. Investment Bank, Best Islamic Bank, and Best Retail Bank.
