There is no devotional pillar imposed by God on His servants except that there is wisdom behind it that is represented in human happiness and comfort in this world, leading to the Hereafter, and perhaps the most important pillar before any action is sincerity in work, to the satisfaction of God Almighty.
The intent of worship and the purpose of it is the completion of human humanity, happiness, and upliftment towards God’s pleasure and love. Every devotional pillar has its educational content.
From this perspective, we see worship as a divine approach in educating His servants, and the more sincere a person is in performing them and investigating them in the fullest way, in their educational content consciously and contemplating, the more their blessings will fall on him freshly moist, refining the soul, spirit and body, and humane refinement of thought and behavior, so that the humanity of man is complete and he is worthy of honor. God and his preference over much of what he created.
As we live the blessed days of Ramadan, the best month with God, we have to think about the wisdom of fasting it, and reflect on the change it brings about in our lives.
We are commanded to think and contemplate so that our faith deepens and the goal of our worship is achieved and we learn about the true purposes of the ritual of fasting Ramadan, as a sign of God Almighty in us in spirit, soul, body, morals and behavior – so that we increase in knowledge, wisdom and faith?
If the spirit of worship is absent, then it has no effect, so it becomes mere movements that have an appearance that the eye can see, but they lack the spirit that gives them the meaning and wisdom for which they were imposed. Fasting is an act of worship, striving against oneself and defeating oneself.
There are many people who have made the month of “fasting” a season or a “festival” for diversification and sophistication in eating and drinking and holding banquets with delicious food, so it became a month of extravagance and satiation to the point of saturation. Thus, the wisdom of fasting and striving against oneself in it is negated by giving priority to obedience to God over the lust of the soul, without abstaining from food and drink, and abstaining from desires, seeking the face of God alone, who does not approach other people with such a method of closeness, and thus we have stripped the devotional pillar of its content and content. Educational and we were satisfied with the timings of constipation and breakfast!
You are surprised when you see people crowding into the corridors of the markets, pushing carts full of food of every kind for the month of Ramadan, even though it is the month presaged to feed souls and satisfy scarce souls, and heal bodies through fasting, as if it was a month to “maintain” the body from the accumulation of toxins and above it from rust and rain throughout the year. Medically, abstaining from food and drink for a certain period of time reduces cholesterol, which leads to improved cardiovascular health and a reduced risk of heart diseases such as strokes or heart attacks.
In this month, the body also gets used to eating smaller amounts of food, which gives the stomach and digestive system a chance to contract. This has a direct effect on controlling hunger, as appetite decreases, which leads to weight loss, and our societies complain about obesity and its effects. And if a person follows a healthy diet, he will not have a problem in maintaining a low cholesterol level
Besides spiritual cleansing, fasting allows the body to detoxify the digestive system because we abstain from drinking and eating throughout the day. And when the body begins to consume fat stores to generate energy, it will also burn any harmful toxins that may be present in fat deposits.
Fasting also makes our metabolism more efficient. Thanks to the combination of fasting and late-night eating that results in an increase in a hormone called adiponectin (a fat cytokine), it is easier for our muscles to absorb more nutrients. So that different areas of the body can benefit from the nutrients needed to function effectively.
Fasting also enhances mental health, makes the brain more flexible and adaptable, improves mood and memory, and makes the body produce more brain cells, thus improving brain functions, enhancing mental clarity and reducing stress, due to the decrease in the hormone cortisol.
Lower blood sugar levels also help the body use stored glucose for energy, which leads to the body naturally regulating itself.
Fasting was imposed by God as a mercy for us, so that the rich and the owners of plentiful tables feel the deprivation of others and their sense of hunger, thirst and loss, so souls rise and human bonds are strengthened.
We starve to improve the health of our minds and bodies, and to refine our souls and anticipate their scarcity.
Let's fulfill Ramadan's right until we achieve its purpose
Every Ramadan and everyone is in good health.
