Today, a ceremony was held in the interim capital, Aden, to receive the fourth batch of the oil derivatives grant for power plants, in the presence of a number of officials in the leadership of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the local authority of Aden Governorate, and representatives of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
During the reception ceremonies, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Abdul Hakim Fadel, praised the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen in all fields and in various circumstances and times, which reflects the depth and strength of the relations between the two countries, Yemen and the Kingdom. He said that the Yemeni people will continue to carry feelings of loyalty and gratitude to the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their constant support for Yemen and standing by the Yemeni people in these difficult circumstances that the country is going through as a result of the war for the ninth year in a row and the coup against state institutions. by the Houthi group and the resulting effects on the economy and massive destruction of infrastructure. He pointed out that the electricity sector is the most affected. He expressed the appreciation of the Republic of Yemen and its legitimate government, represented by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, for the generous support provided by the Kingdom to the electricity sector through a grant of oil derivatives for power plants.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy reviewed the importance of the support provided by the Kingdom to the electricity sector, through the grant of oil derivatives for power stations, through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which clearly contributed to improving the electricity service and all other services.
In a special statement to Okaz, he said that the oil derivatives grant saved the Yemeni government millions of dollars that were used to buy fuel, and enabled the Yemeni government to benefit from those amounts in paying salaries and improving the rest of the services, in addition to maintaining a great deal of economic stability. And prevented further collapse, once again appreciation and thanks to the Kingdom's leadership for its permanent support for Yemen. He called on the Kingdom's leadership to renew the grant of oil derivatives, in recognition of the conditions Yemen is going through and its urgent need for continued support. He said that the oil derivatives grant is the most prominent support by the brothers in the Kingdom, and its results are felt by the general Yemeni people through the improvement it brings about in the electricity service and all other services.
For his part, Deputy Director of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in Aden Governorate, Muhammad Al-Yahya, confirmed that the fourth installment of the oil derivatives grant comes as an extension of the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in response to a request Yemeni government. He reviewed the contributions of the grant in operating power plants and improving electricity service in all Yemeni governorates. He said that the grant confirms the keenness of the Kingdom and its leadership to support the Yemeni people.
