The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council renewed its welcome to all regional and international endeavors and efforts aimed at stopping the war, ending the crisis in Yemen and establishing a just and sustainable peace in accordance with the three terms of reference.
During a meeting with the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, the UK Ambassador to Yemen, Richard Oppenheim, he referred to the relations between the two countries and to developments in the Yemeni situation in light of the ongoing developments in the peace process and the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom to stabilize the armistice, declare a sustainable ceasefire, and complete the prisoner exchange process. And thus paving the way for a comprehensive Yemeni dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council drew attention to the government's efforts for peace and alleviation of human suffering, as it had paid the salaries of education and health employees in Houthi-controlled areas, before it went to its unilateral measures by confiscating the revenues of oil derivatives set aside at the Central Bank under the Stockholm Agreement, and preventing the circulation of The new edition of the national currency.
The meeting stressed the importance of integrating all efforts in order to push the Houthi militias to deal seriously with the endeavors of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the international community, and to return to a comprehensive political process sponsored by the United Nations.
The Yemeni president praised the United Kingdom's positions on the side of the Yemeni people, and the fulfillment of their aspirations to restore state institutions, security and stability in the country.
Members meet the French ambassador
During separate meetings of the members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Othman Majali, Tariq Saleh and Sultan Al-Arada, with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Jean-Marie Safa, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, they affirmed the commitment of the Presidential Council and the Yemeni government to a comprehensive and just peace as a strategic option, “and in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore their state and end the coup.” Addressing its political, economic, social and intellectual causes and its humanitarian repercussions and effects.
They welcomed all efforts aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in Yemen, and the Presidential Council's support for all regional and international endeavors to resolve the crisis in accordance with the three basic references represented in the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions on Yemeni affairs.
For his part, the French ambassador appreciated the position of the Presidential Leadership Council, which he described as "brave and constructive", and its keenness to reach a lasting and comprehensive peace that achieves the aspirations and hopes of the Yemeni people.
He affirmed his country's support for the comprehensive peace process in Yemen, the efforts of the Leadership Council and its positive engagement with all regional and international endeavors to end the ongoing war and achieve peace in the country.
