Yemeni Interior Minister Ibrahim Ali Ahmed Haidan described the prisoner exchange process between the government and the Houthis as the largest in years. He said in a statement today (Friday): The operation was carried out at the initiative of Saudi Arabia and the Coalition to Support Legitimacy. He stressed that it is an important step to restore peace in the country, pointing out that it will continue to include everyone after the upcoming Eid al-Fitr. And he disclosed more upcoming understandings related to the peace process after the exchange of prisoners.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights, Majed Fadayel, said: There is a great and continuous interest in all the released heroes of the national army, the popular resistance, and military and civilian leaders by the Presidency and the Yemeni government.
Fadayel announced that the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad, and the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdel-Malek, directed the formation of 3 committees: the first is the Health and Psychological Care Committee from the Ministry of Public Health to verify the health and psychological status of the released, which includes psychiatrists and health technicians, and provides primary health care to the released prisoners. assess and follow up their health condition and provide the necessary treatment for emergency cases.
The second, the legal and human rights committee, which is formed by the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, and is concerned with providing legal advice to released prisoners, providing them with the necessary assistance in the event of legal problems, and preparing files and human rights cases for the violations they have been subjected to.
As for the third committee, it is the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Committee, and it is formed from the concerned ministries. It coordinates with donors and international organizations to implement programs for the rehabilitation of the released, work to reintegrate them into society, and help them return to their normal lives.
