A group of fraudsters in the US state of Arizona managed to simulate the voice of a girl using artificial intelligence techniques, in an attempt to delude her mother into kidnapping her and asking for a million dollar ransom.

Where the girl's mother discovered that she had not been kidnapped in the first place, and she was present in a public place for skating, and everything that happened was a fraud.

"I believed the fact that she was my daughter and I felt a lot of fear," said mother Jennifer DeStefano, adding that she had received a call from an unknown number. "I didn't want to answer first, but I answered because my daughter was on a skiing trip and might need something."

She indicated that she heard her daughter's voice screaming, crying and calling her, indicating that the fraudster threatened her that he would transfer her to Mexico if she did not respond to his requests.

And she continued, “At first, he asked for one million dollars, but then reduced the number to $50,000 after I told him that I did not have the money.”

After contacting the police, it was found that her daughter was safe and sound on the ski trip.

It turned out later that the girl's voice had been simulated using artificial intelligence techniques for the purpose of fraud.
