The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is in constant contact with the Sudanese authorities to facilitate the unhindered return of its citizens through land crossings. And she said, in a statement she posted on Facebook, today (Friday), that she continues through her missions in Sudan to make all efforts and make the necessary contacts to follow up on the conditions of the Egyptian community in the country during the crisis and to deal quickly with it according to developments.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry had announced the success of its efforts, in coordination and cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, to secure the safety of the rest of the Egyptian soldiers present in Sudan with the Rapid Support Forces, and to hand them over to the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum. The two brotherly countries expressed their appreciation to the International Red Cross for its efforts in supporting the process of ensuring the safety of the Egyptian soldiers.
The Egyptian and Emirati foreign ministries stated that this step comes within the framework of the two countries' stance in support of the truce through continuous communication with the Sudanese parties, to ensure restraint, stop escalation, and return to the political track. They affirmed the commitment of Egypt and the UAE to continue their efforts aimed at stopping the fighting and protecting civilians and civilian facilities. The two ministries stressed the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at returning to the political framework and dialogue to resolve all differences and move forward in the transitional phase to reach the desired political and security stability in Sudan.
