Plug-in Hybrids Are the Practical Bridge

 ·  1 min read

The automotive industry tried to force a rapid transition directly from combustion engines to fully electric vehicles. Infrastructure realities have severely slowed that momentum.

The charging infrastructure reality
Outside of major coastal cities, reliable fast-charging networks remain sparse. For people who live in apartments, relying entirely on public chargers is a nightmare.

The PHEV advantage
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) offer 30 to 50 miles of purely electric range, covering the daily commute without burning fuel. For road trips, the gas engine seamlessly takes over.

The material efficiency
The massive battery in one long-range EV uses enough lithium to build six PHEVs. Distributing that battery capacity across more vehicles reduces emissions far more effectively.
