Her name is Ebru Timtik. She is a Turkish lawyer. After 238 days of hunger strike for fair trial, she died in tyrant’s jail #Erdogan , in the indifference of an international community which preferred to look elsewhere.

It was decided to be released in the first session. They were appealed, arrested again, and the delegation that issued the release was dissolved.

He could not access the so-called evidence. He was not even allowed to defend properly.

A lawyer died today of injustice, not starvation. He was killed.

After 238 days on the hunger strike to point out unjustness in her trial, lawyer #EbruTimtik has died in a hospital in Istanbul.

She only demanded a fair trial and justice which was ignored by the government and judiciary. Her colleague #AytacUnsal is still on hunger strike.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague #EbruTimtik. Ebru passed away on 27 August after 238 days of hunger strike, which she started to strengthen her demand for fair trials and the administration of justice in Turkey. R.I.P. Ebru – we respect you and we always will.

Respect a person fasting for justice,regardless of her opinions. This is inhumane.
What is left for public officials is just continuous shame. They had just left her to die for 238 days.

It is with great sadness that the CCBE learns of the death of #EbruTimtik, a Turkish lawyer fighting for #humanrights, who was detained and on hunger strike to obtain a #fairtrial. Mobilisation must continue in support of persecuted lawyers in #Turkey @UNIndepJudges @EamonGilmore
