A deputy was savagely beaten to death last night at the county jail in Detroit.
I knew Cpl. Bryant Searcy.
A good man. His murder can be laid at the feet of official mismanagement, public safety as an afterthought, understaffing, a concerted effort to keep the public in the dark.
