This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
It is with deep sadness that the Muhlenberg County School District extends our condolences to the family of Sheriff Ricki Allen. Being born and raised in Muhlenberg County, Sheriff Allen has been an active supporter of our district in a variety of capacities. From mentoring and protecting our schools as a Kentucky State Police officer to serving as a School Resource Officer (SRO) and supporting us as our sheriff, he has made a difference in the lives of so many throughout our county. Sheriff Allen raised a wonderful family with his wife, Amy, and has served on various school committees and as a coach in a variety of sports over the past several years. He has left a lasting impression on anyone who crossed paths with him. Sheriff Allen will be greatly missed as not only a supporter of our school district, but as a wonderful citizen and role model to many.
Good Wednesday morning to each of you today. As we begin this day I want to ask each of you to pray for my friend Ricki Allen family today and in the days ahead. Yesterday when I heard the news that Ricki had passed I like most was in shock. I tell people from time to time I’m thankful for God crossing our paths and Ricki was one of those people in my life whose path I’m glad we crossed. A few years ago we were eating at a local restaurant and one of my granddaughters as Ricki went by said that is Mr. Allen who talked to the kids regularly at South elementary and he made an impression on her with his words of positivity. He was a great sheriff, person and friend. I am proud to have served as his chaplain for this almost 2 years. Go rest high for your work here is done. Prayers continuing for his family. Prayers continuing for those battling this virus and those battling cancer and other sickness in their lives today. Prayers for our children and God’s hand of protection over them today and also for our shortcomings and failures today also. God bless and have a great day.
No words can be expressed to convey what Sheriff Ricki Allen was to this community and to the Muhlenberg County Democratic Party. He was more than just the protector of this county, he was also its friend. Ricki was always looking for the good in everyone and was usually able to find it when others could not. We all share in the void that this loss leaves for so many. To his family we say thank you for sharing him with us all of these years, to his fellow officers we mourn with you in this loss and know that you will honor him by following the example that he set. I will personally miss the phone calls between us that typically ended with us laughing and I will miss my friend.

I was going thru some pictures the other day and came across this picture of Ricki Allen and myself.lol He was my escort for Basketball Queen that how long I have know him. I graduated in 85 and he is 86. WE had so many y good memories growing up from school, lake venus, and more in this little town of Bremen. I as well as many am having a very hard time sleeping tonight knowing how broke the community and his family is and will be in days ahead.I say we flood facebook with good memories of Ricki for his family to see
