Bruce Bronzan Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Bruce Bronzan.
I am so very sad today. One of my most important mentors, former State Assemblyman Bruce Bronzan, has passed away. Bruce was so intelligent, funny and driven to help people his entire life. He was first a Fresno County Supervisor, and then served in the State Assembly for a decade. He always had a keen mind, concerned about health issues in general, and mental health in particular. He chaired the Assembly Health Committee. He was an extraordinarily gifted public servant.
Bruce hired me to work on his Assembly campaign, and then to serve as a field representative from 1982, until I was elected to the Fresno City Council in 1989. If it weren’t for him, that would never have happened, and I would not have gone on to work for Senator Barbara Boxer. Bruce was a renaissance man in the best sense. He loved his parents, Nick and Peggy, children Chloe and Forest, sisters Ann and Mary, and his whole family, deeply. I wish them, and his countless friends, peace and solace, knowing all the good he did. He really did have a wonderful life.
I regret having to be the bearer of this sad news. Bruce Bronzan, my friend and political compatriot, passed away on his 73rd birthday, this past Monday.
In addition to being Student Body President at both McLane High School and Fresno State College, his amazing career included: a teacher, a program Director of Mental Health for Fresno County, the youngest-ever head of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, Legislator in the California State Assembly, where he authored 100+ bills, Dean of UCSF, and he owned his own business, Trilogy. a healthcare company.
Bruce loved acting and most recently had been directed by daughter Chloe in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, in San Miguel de Allende. He loved fishing trips with his son, Forest. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Harrison & Claire Bronzan; Daughter-in-Law, Laura; wife, Jeri Brittell Bronzan, and former wife of 32 years, Linda K Barnes.
I, along with his large family of loving friends, will miss him terribly. RIP dear brother. Thank you for your loyalty and years of service.
