A 29-year-old mother has been hospitalized in critical condition, after she was shot while shielding daughter from a road rage incident in San Antonio South Side, reports say.
The incident happened at about past 7 a.m. near Interstate 35 and Theo Avenue Sunday, San Antonio police say.
Investigators say an adult male driver fired several shots on another vehicle driver claiming he was overtaken by the driver in the turnaround lane. Officials say the woman, who was on enroute with her husband and 7-year-old daughter at the time of the shooting , jumped to the back seat of the vehicle to protect her child from the shooting.
San Antonio police say the woman was critically struck to the back. And was transported by her husband to Mission Trails Baptist Hospital, where they took her to the Trauma Center in severe condition.
Detectives are searching the surveillance in the area for information’s. The driver fled after the shooting. Multiple shell casings were found near the Interstate 35 and Interstates 10, close to Burbank High School.
